The third and final season of Young Royals received a green flag on Netflix, the streaming service announced through Twitter. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will feature Wilhelm and Simon, played by Omar Rudberg and Edvin Rydin, on December 15. This information precedes that appearance.
Young Royals is set at the fictitious exclusive boarding school Hillerska. It centres on the romance between Simon Eriksson, a fellow student played by Rudberg, and Prince Wilhelm of Sweden, played by Ryding. With a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score from reviewers and a 99% audience score, the first season of the show was a hit for Netflix. Malte Grdinger, Frida Argento, Nikita Uggla, Tommy Wättring, Fabian Penje, and Ivar Forsling are also featured in Young Royals.
The first season, which was released in 2021, dealt with issues of class and cultural divide, with Simon and Wilhelm’s statuses becoming increasingly obvious as they grew closer and dealt with life’s ups and downs as well as their romantic relationship. The second season, which was just released last year, concentrated on issues of heartbreak and regaining trust. Fans are interested in learning whether Simon and Wilhelm’s futures will finish happily ever after or less happily than a fairy tale because of how the second season concluded. Fans can only wish and support the happiness of their favourite couple because the image posted on Twitter shows Simon and Wilhelm holding hands.
The last season’s release date has not been specified. Lisa announced the final season on Instagram, “If someone had told me in 2019 when this little universe was just a tiny idea that had been planted in my imagination and started to grow and consume my every waking thought, that it would turn out to be a global success saga spanning over three seasons – shaping new talent both in front of and behind the camera and creating a fandom that would take on a life of its own and actually change peoples life’s for the better, I would have said TOLD YOU SO.”
Lisa added, “It’s actually beyond anything any of us could have ever dreamed or hoped for, and it’s all thanks to you – our viewers. Your commitment and love for YR has given us the honor and privilege of getting to see our story through. Because one thing I did know in 2019 was how it all was gonna end. And now my friends, it’s coming. This season is the last one.”
