Get ready to throw your graduation caps in the air because the superheroes of “The Boys” are heading to college in the spinoff series “Gen V.” Prime Video has just released the official trailer, and it’s clear that fans of the original show are in for a wild ride.
Star Chance Perdomo previously teased that “Gen V” would be “f**ked up,” and the trailer certainly lives up to that promise. From crawling inside a human head to murderous puppets, “Gen V” seems poised to deliver all the superhero debauchery that fans of “The Boys” have come to love.
The series is set at Godolkin University, America’s only college exclusively for superheroes, operated by the infamous Vought International. According to the official logline, “Gen V” will delve into the lives of “hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part ‘Hunger Games‘ — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of ‘The Boys.'”
In addition to Chance Perdomo, the series stars Lizzie Broadway, Jaz Sinclair, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. “Gen V” also boasts guest stars Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, with Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles from “The Boys.”
The showrunners and executive producers for “Gen V” are Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. Other executive producers include “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr. Brant Engelstein serves as co-executive producer.
“Gen V” is the third series set in “The Boys” universe, alongside the original series and the animated spinoff titled “The Boys Presents: Diabolical.”
Fans can catch “Gen V” when it premieres with its first three episodes on September 29 on Prime Video. Judging by the trailer, it’s going to be a wild and irreverent addition to the world of superheroes. Don’t miss it!
