In a burst of excitement and creativity, the forthcoming indie gem “Bob Trevino Likes It” has wrapped up its production in the picturesque backdrop of Louisville, Kentucky. A tantalizing glimpse into the film’s world arrives in the form of its very first official photo. Hold onto your seats, film enthusiasts, because this charming production is about to capture hearts and inspire laughter on an international scale.

Diving into the fray of cinematic innovation, Myriad Pictures has secured the global sales rights for “Bob Trevino Likes It” and is poised to unveil its wares at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. A cosmic twist in this tale is that the movie stands as one of the few independent productions to be granted the coveted SAG-AFTRA interim agreement amidst the ongoing actors strike.

The movie serves as a momentous debut for writer and director Tracie Laymon. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, remember it, for Laymon is set to etch her mark on the celluloid canvas with a story that sparkles with talent. Stepping into the limelight are two exceptional actors: Barbie Ferreira, a name synonymous with her electric performance in “Euphoria,” and John Leguizamo, who recently graced screens in “The Menu” and “John Wick: Chapter 2.” This stellar duo is joined by a constellation of talent including French Stewart of “3rd Rock From the Sun” fame, Lauren “Lolo” Spencer from “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” and Rachel Bay Jones, who impressed in “Dear Evan Hansen.”

The story at the heart of “Bob Trevino Likes It” draws inspiration from Laymon’s own life. At its core, the film orbits around a young woman driven by the desire to please, who embarks on a virtual quest to find her estranged father. Unexpectedly, her digital journey intersects with the life of a grieving, childless man with the same name on Facebook. It’s a heartwarming tale of unexpected connections and personal growth, one that speaks to the resilience of the human spirit.

Laymon, the creative force behind this venture, shares, “This is a story about learning to let go of the people who continually hurt you to make room for the people who want to love and support you. Having personally experienced many of the events that inspired this film, I’ve witnessed how our small acts of kindness toward others create a ripple effect that can change the world for the better.”

Kirk D’Amico, the executive producer, expresses his satisfaction with the film’s progress, stating, “The cast has provided extraordinary performances.” He anticipates that distributors worldwide will be captivated by the film’s unique blend of comedy and heartfelt emotion.

The behind-the-scenes constellation includes producers Tracie Laymon, Sean Mullin, Edgar Rosa, and Felipe Dieppa, each bringing their own creative energy to the table. Executive producers like Carl Effenson, Peter Sobiloff, Mike Sobiloff, Kevin Forrester, Matthew Helderman, and Luke Taylor have all contributed their cosmic touch to ensure the project’s success.

In the vast expanse of the entertainment cosmos, “Bob Trevino Likes It” is shaping up to be a shining star, ready to capture hearts, tickle funny bones, and leave an indelible mark on the world of cinema. Keep your telescopes trained on this one, folks, because it’s set to light up screens with its one-of-a-kind charm and universal themes of human connection.
