Barbie Ferreira announced her departure from the venerable HBO series Euphoria on Wednesday.

Ferreira shared the good news with her followers on Instagram, who were eager to see more of her adored Kat Hernandez in the upcoming season 3 of the show.

In addition to writing a heartfelt farewell to the character, Barbie also comforted the fans over the death of a very relevant and inspirational figure.

Barbie shared a photo of a painting of Kat dressed as a call girl, created by Hunter Schafer, who portrays Jules Vaughn on the show, in her Instagram story.

Alongside the picture, Barbie penned an emotional post, "After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary eyed goodbye."

The actress also added, “I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did, and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today"

In addition, Barbie mentioned how she "cared and loved" the role of the plus-size high school student who is struggling to accept who she is.

Many fans of the show and of Barbie's character expressed their regret following her announcement.

But some had anticipated the news given that Barbie's character had been pushed to the sidelines for the previous season and was rumoured to have been cut out of many parts as rumours of a dispute between Barbie and the show's creator Sam Levinson

Although, the reason for Barbie's departure from Zendaya's popular show is still unclear.
