After the new teaser, MCU shares a new image for Thor: Love and Thunder In the image, Thor and Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor team up in identical costumes in a new shot from Thor: Love and Thunder. In the new picture from Thor: Love and Thunder, two Jane Foster and Thor stand side by side. The image, which was provided by Marvel via Empire, shows Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth) in his new blue and gold suit standing with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who is carrying Mjolnir for the first time in the film. While the specifics of Foster’s return to the MCU are unknown, the idea of her holding Thor’s hammer was first explored in Jason Aaron’s critically praised comics book The Mighty Thor in 2015.

Thor will be rehabilitating while standing down as a superhero in Love and Thunder, which will follow the events of Avengers: Endgame. He’s having a midlife crisis and attempting to figure out whether his true calling is to be a hero and a leader. This, however, coincides with the arrival of Gorr, the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who intends to live up to his moniker by annihilating every god in Asgard and beyond. Now he must reunite with Korg (Waititi) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) from Thor: Ragnarok, as well as Jane Foster, his old flame from Thor and Thor: The Dark World, who has since become The Mighty Thor.

Thor will undoubtedly find it difficult to comprehend Jane Foster’s reappearance after an eight-year absence. Without even considering the fact that she now has her own version of his suit, the idea that she is taking up his mantle, especially after he has intentionally forsaken it, will be perplexing. Seeing someone he cares about take on the responsibilities and risks he used to take seems to have inspired him to fight once more, but it’s uncertain how this story will end.

After directing Thor: Ragnarok, Waititi is returning to the role of Thor. He didn’t intend to adapt the Jane Foster Thor narrative by Jason Aaron and his partners, but once he started working on Love and Thunder, he was keen to put Jane back into the mix. Waititi said, “I didn’t know we were going to use the storyline of the Mighty Thor character until we started working out the actual story. I was writing and it was like, ‘Wouldn’t it be kind of cool to bring Jane back into the storyline?’ You don’t want Natalie coming back and playing that same character who’s walking around with science equipment. You know, while Thor’s flying around, she’s left on Earth, tapping her foot going, ‘When’s he going to be back?’ That’s boring. You want her to be part of the adventure.”
