A new image from the upcoming Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder shows Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman as the film’s two Thors. While Natalie’s transition into the God of Thunder was hinted at in the first trailer, the new still provides a much clearer picture of her physical makeover. Fans of the film have filled social media with praise for the two, dubbing them “fit couple goals.”
On Saturday, Empire Magazine posted a fresh still, which was quickly co-opted and circulated on social media by the actors’ and Marvel’s fan groups. Chris Hemsworth, dressed as Thor, stands next to Natalie’s character Jane Foster, who is holding Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer. Natalie’s physical metamorphosis for the part is shown in this photo.
“Images this appealing should be outlawed,” one Twitter user said after seeing the image. “This is suitable couple goals,” remarked another enthusiast. Others compared how Thor and Jane’s relationship works. Thor was her defender in the first film, and now they are on equal footing. One follower remarked on Instagram, “I adore how far Jane has gone and is now rubbing shoulders with a God.”
Natalie allegedly worked with a trainer for four months to get in shape for the picture. The actress recently discussed her fitness programme with Vanity Fair. “We did a lot of heavyweight training and protein drinks, which I had never done before. Of course, I’ve never set out to gain weight. It was really physical, therefore there was a lot of agility and strength training “she stated.
Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum. Tessa Thompson, Jamie Alexander, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Vin Diesel reprise their roles from previous MCU films. Gorr the God Butcher, a new villain, will be introduced in the upcoming film (played by Christian Bale). On July 8, 2022, the film will be released in theatres.
