One of the scenes shown in the recently released trailer gets a new look thanks to an HD image from Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor: Love and Thunder will be Chris Hemsworth’s fourth solo film. Marvel Studios’ Taika Waititi is directing the film after reviving the Thor franchise with 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, who is now King of New Asgard, will make a cameo appearance in the film, as will Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher, who is a new villain. Natalie Portman will also reprise her role as the Mighty Thor, which she played in previous MCU films.

Thor: Love and Thunder is only a few months away, but at the time of writing, Marvel had only released the trailer for the sequel a little more than a week ago. The trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder revealed a lot about the film while also raising a lot of questions. The teaser does not include Gorr, but it does include new looks at Thor, Korg, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Zeus, and, most importantly, Jane Foster. Apart from revealing Thor has retired from being a superhero and is seen meditating atop a mountain, it didn’t reveal too many plot details.

Thor’s meditation scene from the trailer has been given a new look thanks to a new image from Marvel Studios. Thor is seen sitting on top of the same mountain in this image, but the image is wider to show his full costume. Below is a high-resolution image from Marvel.

Thor: Love & Thunder Movie Image Reveals New Trailer Scene 2

Even though Thor will try to live a peaceful life and not be concerned with saving the world, the trailer shows that this plan will not last long. Thor will undoubtedly return to the action now that Gorr the God Butcher has entered the picture and Jane Foster has discovered her newfound abilities. That being said, it’s unclear how Thor came to the decision to retire from superhero dom. Thor ventures off with the Guardians of the Galaxy at the end of Avengers: Endgame, so something significant must have happened on their journey to motivate him to live such a simple life.

Even if this image doesn’t reveal much about Thor: Love and Thunder, any new information is always welcome. Thor: Love and Thunder broke the MCU record for the shortest time between the release of the first trailer and the release of the film, so fans had to rely on leaked set photos and merchandise to get their first glimpses of the film. With the release date approaching, Marvel should begin ramping up its marketing campaign as soon as possible to provide more images from Thor: Love and Thunder, as well as a full-length trailer. For the time being, the little Marvel has released will have to tide fans over until Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is released.
