While fans wait for the highly anticipated trailer, Chris Hemsworth took to Instagram to reveal that the promotional press tour for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder has begun. Hemsworth added a humorous snapshot of himself with director Taika Waititi and co-star Tessa Thompson in his Instagram post. The film is set to hit cinemas on July 8. The superhero flick will have no direct competition when it hits theatres. It will, however, premiere in the same month as DC League of Super Pets and Bullet Train.
Hemsworth wrote, “Some long lead press for Thor Love And Thunder with these two wonderful humans. A day full of wackiness and hilarity. Get ready folks this films gonna be wild!!” captioning the post he shared.
Thor: Love and Thunder will see Hemsworth reprise his role as God of Thunder, Thompson reprise her role as Valkyrie, and Natalie Portman reprise her role as Jane Foster, who will wield the legendary Mjolnir. Christian Bale, who won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal as Gorr the God Butcher, will also be returning to the superhero genre. Jaime Alexander will play Sif, Jeff Goldblum will play Grandmaster, Waititi will play Korg, and Guardians of the Galaxy actors Chris Pratt will play Peter Quill, Karen Gillan will play Nebula, Sean Gunn will play Kraglin, and Vin Diesel will play Groot will all appear in the film.
Previous set photographs have also shown that Matt Damon, Sam Neill, and Luke Hemsworth, as well as Melissa McCarthy and Russell Crowe, will return for cameo appearances. Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) is directing Thor: Love and Thunder from a story he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, and it will be the follow-up to Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok.
