The Witcher

Netflix was forced yet again to halt the production for the second season of the highly popular TV series, The Witcher, because of its staff testing positive for COVID-19. Furthermore, there is no info about when the production will be resuming again.

Production Of The Witcher Season 2 Has Received Two Delays

The news about the production halt first surfaced when Deadline reported that the staff that had tested COVID positive was not associated with the main cast of the show and that they were already placed in quarantine. The second season of the show was being filmed west of London. It was not much shocking to hear about team members testing positive as the UK was experiencing a sudden rise in COVID cases in the last few weeks. The show’s filming will resume only when it is believed that the conditions are safe to do so.

Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich took to Twitter and thanked fans for their tremendous support. She also informed that all the staff was doing good and they would be resuming the production soon. It indicated that this delay was not going to last long as the first one they had earlier this year. The Witcher series is adapted from the book series of the same name. The franchise’s succeeded mainly because of the video games that feature most characters from the series alongwith their locations and background stories.

CD Projekt Red, the developer of the game, will be releasing free upgrades for people already owning? The Witcher 3 on ?Xbox Series X,?Series S, and?PS5. As far as the show’s lead Henry Cavill is concerned, he’ll probably step aside from production and play The Witcher game. It is because he was already a fan of the series long before he grabbed the lead role in it.
