Wrong Opponents For Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has consistently dominated WWE over the years.
Roman Reigns has been the Universal Champion for more than two years and he also captured the WWE Title at WrestleMania 38. Roman Reigns has defeated many superstars during his title run.
However, several Superstars would have been a good choice to end Tribal Chief’s title run and his win against Roman was a wrong decision.

Balor and Edge

WWE Superstar Finn Balor
There was a very memorable enmity between Finn Balor and Roman Reigns.
Later, Finn Balor fought a championship match against Roman Reigns with his Demon Gimmick.
For this reason, many people felt that Balor could win the title in Extreme Rules.
Although Roman Reigns finally won the match, it was a wrong decision as it ended all the hype about Balor.
Also, his demon gimmick was completely ruined.

Edge
Edge and Roman Reigns were supposed to have a match at WrestleMania 37 but Daniel Bryan was later added to it.
A singles match was finally booked between Edge and Roman at Money in the Bank.
This Universal Title match between the two proved to be very good.
Edge won the world title years ago and he had a chance to become champion after a long hiatus.

Rollins and John Cena

Seth Rollins
The match between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns was seen in Royal Rumble 2022.
The Universal Title match has been a great one in wrestling terms and it was a good opportunity to make Seth the champion here.
Seth Rollins became the World Champion almost 3 years ago and it had been a long time since he won the title.
Seth Rollins should have won the title for this reason.
Also, there were speculations at that time that there would be no champion vs champion match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
Now it appears that retaining Roman’s title was the wrong decision.

John Cena
The Universal Championship match between John Cena and Roman Reigns was seen at SummerSlam 2021.
John Cena should have been the champion here because WWE had a great opportunity to make history here.
If Roman Reigns had lost the championship at SummerSlam, John Cena would have become the first WWE Superstar to have won the World Championship 17 times.
However, Roman retained the title and Cena hasn’t fought a match since then.
That’s why it was a slightly wrong decision for Roman to retain the championship there.
Fans would not be disappointed if Roman could capture the title again a few months after Cena became champion.
