Zazie Beetz and Aaron Paul joins Season 6 cast of Netflix’s Black Mirror

Netflix’s popular anthology series Black Mirror is preparing for its much anticipated comeback after a three-year sabbatical. Season 6 of the show will have an all-star ensemble that includes well-known actors like Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad).The well-known show, which is reportedly now in production, unveiled the cast for three of Season 6’s episodes, according to Variety.

Paapa Essiedu (The Lazarus Project), Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara (House of Cards), Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick), Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton, and Anjana Vasan are among the latest cast members of the well-liked technological thriller. It’s expected that more actors will sign on for additional episodes of the show as the casting is only for the first three episodes of the current season.

Since the most recent fifth season of the popular drama began airing, there has been confusion about what will happen next, prompting viewers to wonder if the series is over. Black Mirror Season 6 proved successful, and a new season of the dystopian drama will return in May. The revival of the show hasn’t been officially announced, but the next season will include more episodes than the previous one.

Black Mirror’s fifth season, which consisted of just three episodes, debuted in June 2019 and starred Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie, Andrew Scott, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Topher Grace. The following season marks the first after the show’s creator Charlie Brooker and his creative collaborator Annabel Jones quit their production firm House of Tomorrow in January 2020 and started working under the new production label Broke and Bones.

Soon after, Netflix made a major investment in the business valued up to $100 million. Because Endemol Shine, which sponsored House of Tomorrow, retained ownership of the rights to Black Mirror, the future of the series was briefly in doubt. However, Netflix was able to come to an agreement that would licence the show to Banijay Group, who had previously purchased Endemol Shine in 2018.

Beetz, who is best known for playing Van on FX’s Atlanta opposite Donald Glover and LaKeith Stanfield, previously as the luck-wielding mercenary Domino in Deadpool 2. Paul, a star of Breaking Bad, has previously ventured into the gloomy world of Black Mirror, unlike Beetz. The actor, best known for roles in Westworld and BoJack Horseman, voiced Gamer 691 for a one-minute cameo in the “USS Callister” episode of Season 4 of Black Mirror.
