Among many vehicle brands in India, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has cemented its position as one of the leading automobile companies. The company had earlier announced the sales of its domestic passenger vehicle for May 2022 showing robust growth. M&M witnessed 236% Year-on-Year (YoY) sales growth with 26,904 units sold in May 2022 compared to 8004 units in May 2021. The overall auto sales of M&M for May 2022 stood at 53,723 vehicles.
As far as the utility vehicles segment is concerned, M&M sold 26,632 vehicles in May 2022 with a jump of 244% Year-on-Year (YoY). For the commercial vehicles, the company sold 21,149 vehicles in May 2022, and the total exports for the month saw a rise of 5% with 2028 vehicles exported last month in comparison to May 2021. All in all, Mahindra & Mahindra saw an upward trend in the sales of its vehicles in different segments.
With the company showing steady growth with the sales of its vehicles, Mahindra & Mahindra has an interesting pipeline of vehicles being launched. Mumbai-based entrepreneur and leading car dealer Karan Asrani is overwhelmed with M&M having brilliant sales throughout the year. Mr. Asrani is the CEO of Krishna Group which has its association with Mahindra & Mahindra. In addition, his company is associated with the other automobile giants like Mahindra First Choice, Tata Motors and My TVS.
While Krishna Group deals in the sales of both passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles, Karan is excited about the launch of M&M’s Scorpio-N. The vehicle has already garnered a great buzz and is already generating great interest levels from the customers. The unveiling of Scorpio-N is said to happen across India on June 27, 2022. Mr. Asrani further quipped that there has been a lot of enquires about the dealership of Mahindra & Mahindra.
Besides this, he said, “Scorpio is a beast that has a legacy of its own in the Indian market. We have had customers who own Scorpio for more than 15 years. They are loyalists to the model, and I cannot wait for the new model to be launched soon.” More so, Karan Asrani is glad about the way commercial vehicles have shown a drastic growth in the Indian retail market. For the light commercial vehicles, M&M’s Bolero City Pickup was a huge hit as they were sold like pancakes by Karan Asrani’s Krishna Group.
On a concluding note, Karan Asrani shared that he is waiting for the launch of automobiles in the EV segment. As electric vehicles continue to see a rise in number across India, the entrepreneur is sure that M&M will yet again have its dominance in the EV market.
