iOS 16 and the New MacBook Air: Apple's Most Exciting Announcements at WWDC 2022

This week, Apple held its WWDC 2022 keynote, where it announced iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, and watchOS 9, as expected. Apple used the WWDC stage to unveil a new MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro as two of its new hardware offerings, in addition to showcasing its new software developments. The company’s M2 chip powers both new MacBook models. The new MacBook Air — aka MacBook Air (2022) — has an entirely new design that brings it closer to the MacBook Pro family.

The most significant announcement from this year’s WWDC keynote is iOS 16. The new iPhone operating system includes a redesigned Lock Screen that supports widgets and customizations. Apple has also redesigned the way notifications appear on the Lock Screen in iOS 16 to ensure that users can see their personalised screen while receiving new alerts.

Along with the new Lock Screen, which includes long-overdue cosmetic changes, iOS 16 includes a new Messages app that allows you to edit or even unsend a sent message. Apple has also introduced the iCloud Shared Photo Library feature, which allows users to easily share photos with family members.
