Austin Butler is poised to play Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, in the upcoming musical biography Elvis. The film, directed by Baz Luhrmann, will follow Butler as he immerses himself in the life of the late music superstar. The 30-year-old actor has released a trailer in which he portrays Elvis Presley.

Austin Butler was taken to the hospital the day after filming Elvis Presley.
Austin Butler described being hospitalised a day after finishing filming the movie in an interview with GQ magazine as his body began to break down. “I awoke around four a.m. with tremendous pain and was transported to the hospital,” he claimed. The day after I finished ‘Elvis,’ my body began to shut down.
In 2019, Butler was chosen to star in the film. According to the site, the film suffered multiple difficulties as a result of the pandemic, with filming being delayed. According to the magazine, the producers agreed to move Butler to Los Angeles, but the actor decided to take advantage of the opportunity to “dig even further into his role.” He also apparently studied photographs of Elvis from every decade in preparation for the part.
Butler said, “Just images of Elvis everywhere, from every historical period.’ “I believe the film would have been significantly different had we started shooting at that point, and I’m pleased I had the time to marinate.”
Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’ manager, is played by Tom Hanks in the film. Lisa Marie, Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s daughter, had previously praised Butler’s performance in the film and believed he deserved an Oscar. “In my opinion, his performance is unrivalled, and it is finally done correctly and politely.” (If he doesn’t get an Oscar for this, I’m going to eat my own foot.)” Lisa Maire wrote on Instagram.
