In their final home contest of the 2023 calendar year, the Seattle U women’s basketball team (1-9, 1-1 WAC) faced UTSA and narrowly fell short with a final score of 64-75, despite a strong comeback in the last quarter where they outscored the Roadrunners 22-10. Julianna Walker played a pivotal role, leading the Redhawks in scoring with a season-high 17 points, featuring four made three-pointers.
Mya Moore continued to showcase her prowess in the front court, contributing 14 points and securing eight rebounds. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native achieved a game-high four steals and three blocks, matching her career-bests.
Adding to the double-figure scoring, Makayla Moore concluded the game with 12 points and three rebounds. Peyton Howard demonstrated versatility, achieving a new career-best with nine assists and tying her career-high in rebounds with eight. The Spokane, Washington, native also contributed six points, two steals, and a block to the stat sheet. The nonconference contest unfolded at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle.
