After receiving an email stating that the tabloid planned to run a storey regarding Kelly’s “weight increase,” Kelly and Sharon Osbourne exchanged harsh words with the National Enquirer. On Tuesday, Nov. 30, the former Osbournes star released a screenshot of what looked to be an email from the National Enquirer, asking her to comment on an impending storey that insensitively stated she “had put on a large amount of weight” recently.
The former Fashion Police star “has been dealing with stress of her recurrence by eating,” according to an unconfirmed email uploaded to her Instagram Story.
While the message instructed Kelly to answer to the outlet and its editor-in-chief, Dan Dolan, if she had any comments on the piece, the 37-year-old actress chose to respond in her own unique way.
“This has been the hardest year of my life,” Kelly continued in a separate Instagram Story post. I was completely and utterly devastated as a result of my cooperative behaviour. I’m still trying to put myself back together. I am content. I am in good health. That should be all that matters.” On December 1, Sharon Osbourne slammed the outlet, calling the reporter “a bottom feeder with a lack of empathy.”
“Kelly has had a really horrible year,” she said, defending her daughter. She’s taken a break from the spotlight to focus on herself. She’s doing wonderfully well, and our entire family is quite proud of her.”
“If you can’t give her the decency of walking with me on a Sunday morning in our neighbourhood without degrading her and denigrating her by commenting on the way she looks,” the former The Talk host remarked.
Sharon also questioned whether the newspaper was aware of how “body image” affects the emotional health of young girls. Kelly later confessed that she was the victim of a “”I am an addict and had thought that I had enough time under my belt, and I could drink like a regular person,” she told Extra. “I am an addict and had thought that I had enough time under my belt, and I could drink like a normal person.” And it turns out that I can’t and won’t be normal. I’m not sure why I tried it in the first place.”
