For Sylvester Stallone’s Birthday James Gunn Has Shared Twitter Post Of GOTG 2 BTS Photo

James Gunn

Suicide Squad 2 chief James Gunn has shared background photograph of himself and Sylvester Stallone in celebration of the entertainer’s 75th birthday. Gunn and Stallone previously cooperated on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 of every 2017 where Stallone played Stakar Ogord, a Ravager commander and previous friend of Michael Rooker’s Yondu. The pair are set to rejoin in Gunn’s impending The Suicide Squad, a delicate reboot of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, that is set for release on August sixth. In the film, Stallone will voice King Shark, who join the nominal squad close by Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Idris Elba’s Bloodsport as they embrace a perilous mission in the interest of Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller.

Gunn shared the image of himself and Stallone on his Twitter account toward the end of last night – remarkably a day after Stallone’s birthday of July sixth. In the photograph, the pair show up in the background on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with Stallone decked out in Ravager ensemble as Stakar Ogord. The chief added a message of “Happy Birthday to my friend, the legend @TheSlyStallone!” You can see the full Tweet underneath:

While it is indistinct whether Stallone will return when Gunn gets back to the MCU to balance his set of three with 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 many stay confident that Stallone will return, particularly thinking about the degree of regard and friendship between the two. Stakar was most recently seen reassembling his previous team in a post-credits scene in Vol. 2, which involved various exemplary characters from the Guardians of the Galaxy’s comics history, including Martinex, Charlie-27, and Mainframe.

While a great gesture to the Guardians’ long history in the comics, it is amusing to see a possible return of the characters, or even a Disney+ series investigating their undertakings as Ravagers the occasions of the movies. Chief shooting for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to start not long from now, yet up to that point, fans should delay until August sixth when The Suicide Squad opens to get their fix of Sly Stallone.
