James Gunn has donated items from The Suicide Squad to a charity auction

Director James Gunn has donated items from The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to a charity auction. Gunn originally began his career as a screenwriter, creating the screenplays for frightfulness tinged films like Tromeo and Juliet, Scooby-Doo, and Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead. After making his feature directorial debut with 2006’s Slither, Gunn almost immediately bounced into the universe of superheroes. His sophomore feature was 2010’s Super starring Rainn Wilson as a regular person who chooses to turn into a saint called the Crimson Bolt. Super became the calling card that launched Gunn into the comic book major leagues.

On his Instagram, Gunn detailed the items he has donated to a Veteran’s Day eBay charity auction for Homes for Our Troops, an organization that forms custom homes for injured veterans. The first is a Star-Lord Zune endorsed by Gunn, Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Kurt Russell (Ego), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha), Sean Gunn (Rocket Racoon on set), and Pom Klementieff (Mantis). The second is a shooting script from The Suicide Squad endorsed by him, creator John Ostrander, Margot Robbie (Harley Quin), John Cena (Peacemaker), Idris Elba (Bloodsport), Peter Capaldi (Thinker), Joel Kinnaman (Col. Rick Flag), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher 2), Pete Davidson (Blackguard), Nathan Fillion (T.D.K.), Michael Rooker (Savant), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Taika Waititi (Ratcatcher), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Sean Gunn (Weasel/Calendar Man), Flula Borg (Javelin), Steve Agee (John Economos/King Shark on set), and Mayling Ng (Mongal). The auction for the items is at present running, and the most noteworthy bid will be delegated the winner on Sunday, November 14. The items are likely to go for a chunk of change, and in fact, at the hour of writing, the Suicide Squad script is already up to $1,195. The Guardians Zune is significantly higher at $2,175.

Notwithstanding the exorbitant cost tag, for fans who gather signatures, this is a real shelter. Essentially, the main cast individuals who are missing are the people who gave voice-just characters like Sylvester Stallone (King Shark) from The Suicide Squad and Vin Diesel (Groot), and Bradley Cooper (Rocket Racoon) from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Those actors wouldn’t have been on set to interact with the director or different stars, so that makes sense, however it is an unfortunate oversight.
