“John Wick chapter 4” is now less than two months away. The film’s co-writer Shay Hatten talked about the main character indulging himself in some soul searching.
The film’s team been revealing details in interviews with Total Film for quite sometime now. Now it’s Shay Hatten’s turn to discuss John Wick’s character arc in the fourth instalment.
The writer shared, “With 4, you get to this place of asking an existential question of John,” He further continued, “When you find him, there’s been a little bit of a time break between 3 and 4. He’s full of rage. He wants revenge on the High Table for the things that happened in the third movie. But the questions that everyone around him is asking are: ‘Literally why are you still doing this? What is the value of your life, even if you get out?’ And would his wife value the man that he’s become in going down this gauntlet of revenge? You get to really examine John’s soul, and make him confront this idea of who he is, and what he’s fighting for.”
What does Stahelski and Reeves have to say about the film
Apparently, the director of the film, Stahelski thought of filming “John Wick: Chapter 4 and Chapter 5″ back to back but later had change of plans. The director is quite confident about the fifth instalment. He said, “Keanu calls it the John Wick fever, you haven’t done John Wick for two years and you’re like, ‘We gotta go do something!'”
Keanu Reeves too talked about the fourth instalment earlier, describing it the “hardest” movie he’s ever made.
The star said, “John Wick 4 is the hardest movie I’ve ever made, in terms of action, it’s the hardest film I’ve ever made. But that’s what makes it good.”
‘John Wick: Chapter 4‘ arrives in theaters on March 23rd 2023.
