There was a time when short stories were something that helped guide us through life. Listening to short stories from our elders was our tradition and reading stories were a substantial part of our life. Many of these stories are timeless but new problems and struggles exist today. New stories were needed for the modern era. Because of this, Alex and Richa Sonifrank embarked on a journey to translate their life lessons and experiences into a collection of approachable short stories, compiled in “Modern Parable”. Their goal is to give stories to the readers that will be useful in this era. The authors felt the lessons from the stories that exist do not address some of current issues. These stores address the issues we face today.

Modern Parable: A Series Of Short Stories is meant for readers of all ages. The book includes 48 short stories each with unique lessons. The book challenges you to reflect on day to day life and the choices we call make.

The book “Modern Parables” right from its launch has curated a market space for itself. Originally launched in the United States through amazon, within the first week there were hundreds of purchases and many five-star reviews. The book is also given a space in the state libraries across the United States.

In the next step, the book Modern Parable  is all set to launch in the Indian Subcontinent. “We want to bring back the times when stories were an integral part of our learning along with entertainment. We wish to give today’s generation the same value and purpose that we were able to draw from stories we were read growing up. Of course, we want to do this while also being entertaining.”

Alex and Richa Sonifrank are trying to breathe new meanings into the classic stories and add parables that are missing today. “Some stories came from the lessons we shared with our daughter Sita. The stories were inspired through volunteering with animal sanctuaries as well as running food drives. Many were inspired by witnessing struggles people had today and from engaging with them.” – Shares Richa Sonifrank in an exclusive interview with our reporters.

Alex and Richa Sonifrank are a happily married couple with very different backgrounds. Alex grew up in rural Appalachia while Richa grew up in a busy city in central India. Despite their different backgrounds they ultimately came to similar perspectives before meeting at which point Richa became Alex’s first girlfriend and they promptly got married. The different worlds they come from allowed them to compose stories with unique perspectives and settings.
