The Boys Season 3: Jensen Ackles has confirmed to be the part of Soldier Boy in the series!

The Boys is an American superhero television series created by Eric Kripke for Amazon Prime Video’s streaming service. It follows the eponymous vigilante team as they battle superpowered individuals who misuse their talents, based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which was initially published by DC Comics under its Wildstorm banner before shifting to Dynamite Entertainment. The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, and Karen Fukuhara as vigilantes, and Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, and Nathan Mitchell as members of “the Seven,” an official superhero group run by the conglomerate Vought International who, despite their lofty façade, are ruthless criminals.

On July 26, 2019, the first season premiered. The series was renewed for a third season in July 2020, ahead of the launch of the second season, which will air on June 3, 2022. The narrative, storyline, humour, and performances of the ensemble, notably Urban and Starr, have all earned critical acclaim. In September 2020 and December 2021, two spin-off series were commissioned, the first of which, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, premiered in March 2022.

What’s special?

The Boys’ third season will premiere on June 3 of this year. Fans are getting excited for the action as familiar and new characters entice them in the freshly released teaser. One of the many new characters is Soldier Boy, who is played by Jensen Ackles from the blockbuster drama series Supernatural. Jensen will portray the first Supe for Vought Corporation, donning an 80-year-old superhero’s mask, body armour, and shield.

Jensen Ackles wrapped off his 15-season run on Supernatural in 2019 and immediately started work on this intriguing new project with long-time friend and Supernatural producer Eric Kripke. “I was chatting to him about something entirely unrelated and said, ‘Hey, I’m about to be unemployed.'” Eric says he’s delighted to cooperate with his buddy. ‘Do you have anything on The Boys for me?’ ‘Let me think about it,’ Eric Kripke said, ‘since I’m not sure if I want you for a solo guest appearance.’ ‘Perhaps I have something a little more juicy for you.’

Here’s how the “Soldier Boy” character was made!

Jensen Ackles talks how his upcoming role as Soldier Boy in The Boys Season 3 explores the effects of toxic masculinity. Ackles discusses how his character relates to the subject of toxic masculinity in an interview with SFX Magazine. “The other thing I’d say is Soldier Boy lends itself to an intriguing issue of toxic masculinity,” he continued. So frequently, power entails putting on a macho act that never existed. We place a lot of faith in the Western cowboy, John Wayne, and Marlboro Man myths, especially in the United States. It’s complete nonsense. It has produced generation after generation of messed-up guys who are incapable of living up to it.” “It’s been interesting to explore that with Soldier Boy,” he concluded. What is this male power concept?
