Taylor Swift Sells Private Jet Amid Flight Tracking Drama

Taylor Swift has made headlines by selling her Dassault Falcon 900 private jet, which she acquired in 2009, leaving her with only one remaining aircraft, a Dassault Falcon 7X. Federal Aviation Administration records confirm that Swift parted ways with the smaller Dassault Falcon 900 last month, with the aircraft now registered to a Missouri-based company.

The Dassault Falcon 900, previously Swift’s go-to ride and capable of accommodating 12 passengers, was utilized until its last flight on January 30. In contrast, her Dassault Falcon 7X, with a capacity for 16 passengers, remains in operation.

While the exact reasons for selling the Dassault Falcon 900 are undisclosed, speculation arises amid heightened public awareness of the environmental impact associated with private jet travel, particularly among celebrities. Swift’s decision coincides with increased scrutiny of her travel habits following a 2022 analysis that labeled her as one of the “biggest celebrity (carbon dioxide) polluters” of the year, prompting concerns from fans and environmentalists, especially given her recent concert tour.

Swift’s jet usage has further garnered attention due to a recent incident involving a Florida student, Jack Sweeney, who tracked her flights using publicly available data and shared them on social media. Swift’s attorneys have considered legal action against Sweeney, alleging “stalking and harassing” behavior, according to reports by the Washington Post.

The sale of Swift’s private jet, coupled with ongoing flight tracking controversies, underscores the complex intersection of celebrity, privacy, and environmental responsibility in the modern age.
