Guess what? A mother-daughter duo is fuming over an outrageous hotel price hike! Adele Hickingbothom and her mom Yvonne McDogall were super excited to score tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras UK tour in 2024. But the joy turned sour when they discovered that hotel prices in Cardiff, where the concert will be, had tripled in just 30 minutes!
Adele, who lives in Florida, doesn’t get to see her mom, who’s in Selsey, often due to Covid restrictions. So, they had big plans for two fabulous days in Cardiff together – shopping, spa time, you name it. But those dreams got shattered when they saw hotel prices skyrocket from £200 to an eye-watering £600 in the blink of an eye.
Booking the hotels was already a challenge, but the price surge was just too much to handle. Adele wanted to treat her mom to a five-star experience, but the hotel they were eyeing shot up to over £600 per night – a jaw-dropping £1200 for two nights! It’s not even a weekend, mind you; it’s a Monday and Tuesday night!
The pair eventually had to settle for a Premier Inn 14 miles away, costing them £174 a night. Unfair and ridiculous, right? They were lucky to get those concert tickets in the first place, as thousands of fans battled for the limited supply.
But hey, at least they’ll still get to enjoy Taylor Swift’s amazing performance together!
