Kelly Rizzo, widow of late actor Bob Saget, has confirmed her new relationship with Clueless star Breckin Meyer at a Grammys viewing party on February 4, 2024, two years after Saget’s passing.
The couple made their first public appearance together on the red carpet at a Janie’s Fund charity event, where Rizzo and Meyer were seen holding hands. Rizzo revealed that it took her some time to feel ready to enter a new relationship after Saget’s tragic death in 2022 but ultimately decided to go public with Meyer.
“It took a while to get to the point where I’m like, ‘OK, I think he’d be happy with it,'” Rizzo shared with E! News.
Rizzo expressed gratitude for the support and blessing of Saget’s daughters, Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer, whom he shared with his ex-wife Sherri Kramer. She emphasized how meaningful it was to have their approval and described them as “angels.”
For their public debut as a couple, Rizzo, 44, wore a leopard print dress and knee-high boots, while Meyer, 49, opted for a grey denim ensemble with a graphic tee. Rizzo had previously mentioned the importance of having input from those who knew Saget best, even though she didn’t necessarily need permission from his children.
She shared her appreciation for their trust and love, stating, “We trust you. We love you. We know you’re going to do what’s right, and we want you to be happy.”
While Rizzo moves forward in her new relationship, she continues to cherish Saget’s memory and honor his legacy, actively working with his foundation and keeping his spirit alive.
“I just love talking about him all the time and working with his foundation,” Rizzo expressed. “He’s never going anywhere.”
The confirmation of Rizzo’s new romance with Meyer comes amid other couples celebrating at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
