Kelly Clarkson‘s long-awaited Las Vegas residency finally kicked off at Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater, and fans couldn’t have been happier. After a delay of more than three years, the singer took the stage with boundless energy and excitement, showcasing her extensive catalog of hits and more.

The residency show, aptly named Chemistry in conjunction with her latest album, was initially scheduled to begin in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic had other plans. However, the sold-out crowd proved that the wait was worth it, and Clarkson’s performance was nothing short of mesmerizing.

Throughout the 95-minute show, the multi-talented songstress effortlessly navigated through her impressive repertoire of songs, including timeless classics like “Because Of You,” “Since U Been Gone,” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).” The audience was captivated by her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence, further solidifying Clarkson’s status as a seasoned performer.

Not one to disappoint her fans, Clarkson also paid tribute to her eponymous talk show with a special Kellyoke session, where she sang a rendition of Harry Styles’ “As It Was.” Explaining the choice, she mentioned that the performance was originally planned for The Kelly Clarkson Show but got canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. However, her Vegas residency provided the perfect opportunity to showcase her impressive range and vocal prowess.

During the concert, Clarkson interacted with the audience in her signature warm and engaging manner. She shared personal anecdotes about her life, discussing divorce, her upcoming move to New York City, and her adorable children, River Rose, 9, and Remington “Remy” Alexander, 7. The singer mentioned that her kids are particularly impressed with her song “Broken & Beautiful,” featured in the UglyDolls movie, which brought a smile to the faces of fans.

Unlike some Vegas shows that rely on elaborate pyrotechnics and costume changes, Clarkson’s residency focused on delivering an intimate and authentic experience. She avoided flashy gimmicks and instead connected with her audience on a personal level. During “Breakaway,” the three-time Grammy winner even ventured into the crowd, providing lucky fans with an up-close-and-personal view of her talent.

Clarkson’s residency is set to feature a total of 10 shows, and she has promised that each performance will be unique and tailored to offer something special for every attendee. With her diverse discography and an array of fan-favorite songs to choose from, the audience can expect surprises and excitement at every show.

Chemistry is scheduled to run on various dates through August 19, giving fans ample opportunities to witness the magic of Kelly Clarkson live on the Las Vegas stage. As the singer continues to wow audiences with her unparalleled vocals and heartfelt performances, her residency promises to be a resounding success and a cherished memory for all who attend.
