Jennifer Hudson, the EGOT winner, recently spoke out about the rumors surrounding her and Common’s relationship. The speculation about the two being romantically involved has been swirling, and now Hudson has addressed the matter during an interview.
“Rumors say a lot of things,” said Hudson, 41, with a casual shrug, when asked about the potential romance. “But he’s a beautiful man, I will give you that. That’s for certain.”

The reporter from TMZ complimented the duo, suggesting they make a “cute couple,” to which Hudson simply replied, “Thank you.” However, when asked about the possibility of collaborating with Common on a song, Hudson seemed unsure but acknowledged that it would be cool to see two Chicagoans working together.
In March, Jennifer Hudson celebrated Common’s 51st birthday by posting a photo of them together on her Instagram. In the picture, Common has his arm around her, sparking more speculation about their relationship. Common later shared the same photo on his Instagram Story, expressing gratitude for the birthday shoutout.
Last month, the two stars were spotted leaving Nobu restaurant in Malibu together, further fueling the dating rumors. They are set to appear in the action-thriller movie “Breathe,” where they play husband and wife in a world where the earth is uninhabitable due to lack of oxygen.
Addressing the dating rumors earlier this year, Hudson clarified that the outings were just friendly hangouts, given that they were working together on the film. She mentioned that people tend to create their own narratives, but in reality, they were simply co-stars and friends enjoying meals in between shooting scenes.
As of now, both Jennifer Hudson and Common have not confirmed or denied any romantic relationship. Fans and the media will have to wait and see how their friendship evolves over time.
