Legendary Rock Group Announces Farewell Tour after Decades of Success. The band has unveiled an initial lineup of thirteen shows, with additional dates expected to be announced in the future.
The Eagles, an iconic rock band renowned for their timeless hits and captivating performances, have recently revealed plans for their ultimate tour, aptly named “The Long Goodbye.” This announcement marks a bittersweet moment for fans worldwide, as the group bids farewell to their illustrious career that has spanned over five decades.
“We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful,” the band in their official statement expressed. “Our long-run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle. The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages. We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round.”
Formed in 1971, the Eagles quickly rose to prominence, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry. With over 150 million albums sold globally and six Grammy Awards to their name, their impact cannot be overstated. In 1998, they received the ultimate recognition when they were inducted into the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The Eagles’ musical prowess and artistry are best exemplified by their monumental album, “Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975.” Having achieved a staggering 38 times platinum certification, this album has cemented its place in history as the highest-selling album of all time. The “Long Goodbye” tour will feature the participation of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill, and Deacon Frey, the son of the late Glenn Frey, one of the founding members of the band. The band informed during a press conference that they will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands.
The tour is scheduled to begin on September 7, 2023, in New York City and is expected to continue into 2025. Steely Dan, an esteemed Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee like the Eagles, will be also joining the band on their upcoming tour.
