Brian Austin Green, the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, and his fiancée Sharna Burgess recently shared a candid revelation about their family planning journey. Just two months after welcoming their son Zane in June 2022, the actor made a significant decision—he opted for a vasectomy. The couple discussed their choice and the possibility of expanding their family on the Jan. 2 episode of their podcast “Oldish,” alongside Randy Spelling.

According to Burgess, Green underwent the vasectomy procedure when their youngest, Zane, was just eight weeks old. Reflecting on their decision, Green humorously remarked, “Zane was born, I was like, ‘I think it’s time to close the shop.'” This move solidifies Green’s position as a father of five, as he already shares son Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green, 21, with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil, and sons Noah, 11, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 7, with ex-wife Megan Fox.

Despite the permanence of the vasectomy, Green and Burgess haven’t entirely closed the door on the possibility of expanding their family further. Burgess revealed that they are still “figuring it out” and contemplating whether they are done having children. While Burgess expressed her love for motherhood and her desire to answer its call, she acknowledged the complexities of their busy lives with four young children at home.

“If we have the space and the ability to, would we love to? I certainly would,” Burgess shared. “But we do have four young kids in the home and life is very, very busy.” She emphasized their ongoing discussions about expanding their family, underscoring her deep sense of calling to motherhood.

The couple’s openness about their family planning decisions provides insight into the complexities and deliberations many parents face when considering the size of their family. Despite the permanence of Green’s vasectomy, the couple’s discussions reflect a thoughtful approach to parenting and a willingness to navigate the evolving dynamics of their family life.

In sharing their story, Green and Burgess offer a glimpse into the joys, challenges, and uncertainties of parenthood. Their candid conversations resonate with many families who grapple with similar decisions, highlighting the importance of open communication, mutual support, and thoughtful consideration when navigating the journey of parenthood.

As Green and Burgess continue to navigate their roles as parents and partners, their journey serves as a reminder that the path to building a family is deeply personal, filled with choices, challenges, and ultimately, love.
