Banijay hires a Netflix executive as CFO

Banijay appointed a finance executive from Netflix as his chief financial officer. Cédric Brignon will start next month, handling the Older brother power’s financial strategy and meeting mergers and acquisitions aspirations. She joins from Netflix, where she was most recently Vice President of Studio Finance for EMEA, taking over the streamer finance responsibility for all production and purchase of content in the region, replacing Sophie Kurinckx, who will be going to Banijay’s parent FL Entertainment. She also supervised the coordination of Netflix’s studio strategy and financial planning across its territory as a regional leader.

Previously, he worked at Warner Bros. Entertainment and PWC. She will report to Banijay CEO Marco Bassetti, who was described as a “impeccable financial partner with invaluable experience at huge media conglomerates” by the company. “Having just visited Netflix, we have no doubt that he will be vital in supporting us as we continue to innovate and expand our worldwide group ambitiously,” he continued. “Banijay has become one of the biggest players in the content business, and viewing it from afar, you get the sense that this is just the beginning,” Brignon said. Brignon previously worked for Warner Bros. Entertainment as Vice President of Finance – IT, Real Estate, France, and Benelux. “For five years, he supervised the finance function of the regions’ distribution business, which includes theatre, home entertainment, television, consumer products, and local productions,” according to the corporation. “Along with his general responsibilities, he was responsible for long-term business modelling and development, as well as business reorganisation.” Brignon began his career at PwC in Paris in auditing and consulting before going into the media and entertainment industries. He then worked for Technicolor for nearly ten years on works in France and the United States.
