After reintroducing He-Man and Skeletor in Masters of the Universe: Revelation last year, Netflix has now confirmed at Geeked Week that a sequel series is in the works. The new miniseries, titled Masters of the Universe: Revolution, will consist of ten episodes and will pick up right where Revelation left off, most likely addressing the big cliffhanger at the close of that season.
Unfortunately, other details about the series are currently scant, but Netflix has released a new poster for the show, which you can see below.
The news was made during Netflix’s Geeked Week 2022, and it was accompanied by a short video displaying the show’s new poster. As the struggle between He-Man and Skeletor reaches new heights, the series is ready to deliver an entirely new story to the world of Eternia. This series will offer a new focus to the struggle between these two legendary characters, even while new threats are presented in this mythic battle between He-Man and the brave warriors and Skeletor’s army.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution will be the follow-up to the Netflix series Masters of the Universe: Revelations, which aired in two parts in 2021. Revelations was a spiritual successor to the original 1980s cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, continuing many of the unresolved threads left dangling after the show’s finale in 1985. This brand-new series will be a sequel to the 2021 series, with many of the same people involved in that series returning for this next round of the famous genre.
Kevin Smith, who created and executive produced Revelations, as well as Rob David, Ted Biaselli, Christopher Keenan, and Frederic Soulie, executive produce Masters of the Universe: Revolution. On Revelations, all of these executive producers held the same position. There is presently no casting for the series confirmed, though a “all-star voice cast” is expected to be released soon. The forthcoming series is produced by Mattel Television, with the animation studio Powerhouse Animation also returning.
