Money Heist: Korea is almost here, and the Netflix spin-off drama has just released a highly intense debut trailer, promising an intriguing new tale. Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, which premieres on Netflix on June 24, will take a different approach to the original Spanish series Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel. The new trailer showcases off the next series in all of its splendour, giving a peek at these familiar yet different characters as they plot on pulling off a major robbery while a reunification endeavour by North and South Korea begins.

The new trailer looks at the conflict that led to Korea’s unification, as well as the creation of a new joint currency for the new economic union. Even while everyone expected the two countries’ union to be beneficial, the fact is that the average person continues to suffer financially while the wealthy continue to prosper. With little to lose, the gang of crooks devises a scheme to pull off a major heist, donning the recognisable red jumpsuits that fans of the first series will recognise.

Based on Netflix’s Spanish series Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel, which aired from 2017 to 2021. Not only will Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area be available on Netflix, but a second series based on the original series was confirmed in December 2021. The forthcoming spin-off series will focus on Berlin, who was portrayed by Pedro Alonso in the original series. This forthcoming Netflix series is expected to launch in 2023.

This new adaptation will feature familiar characters including the Professor, played by Yoo Ji-tae, and Tokyo, played by Jeon Jong-seo. Squid Game’s Park Hae-soo will play Berlin, Lee Wong-jong will play Moscow, Park Myung-hoon will play Cho Youngmin, Kim Sung-o will play Cha Moohyuk, Kim Ji-hun will play Denver, Jang Yoon-ju will play Nairobi, Lee Joobeen will play Yun Misun, Lee Hyun-woo will play Rio, Kim Ji-hon will play Helsinki, and Lee Kyu-ho will play Oslo.
