South Korean content, such as films, web series, and music, is gaining popularity around the world. Several South Korean series have made their way to streaming platforms throughout the world in the last year, and audiences have been impressed. Squid Game, a Netflix web series, smashed multiple streaming records and became one of the OTT giant’s most-watched shows. Netflix is getting ready to welcome another South Korean crime thriller, this time an adaptation of the Spanish series Money Heist. While fans wait for the South Korean counterpart, Money Heist: Korean – Joint Economic Area, its creators have released its first trailer.

The secret is that Netflix’s smash show La Casa De Papel (Money Heist) has received a chilly Korean favour. The first peek video is now available. In addition, the K-drama reimagining “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Part 1” will air on June 24.
The plot twist is that Korea is on the cusp of unification, and there is a Joint Security Area – positioned where today’s North and South Korea are separated – that houses a mint that becomes the focal point of the action. During the reunification process, the mint is manufacturing a new unified currency to serve as the foundation for a stable joint economy. Despite people’s dreams for unity, it appears that only the wealthy have gotten richer.

The trailer also features fan-favorite characters – Professor, played by Yoo Ji-tae, Tokyo, played by Jung Jong-seo, and Berlin, played by Park Hae-soo of “Squid Game” – all dressed in famous red jumpsuits and wearing traditional Hahoe masks.
“The original ‘Money Heist’ established how great narrative can be enjoyed by people all around the world, and Korean content has proven to have the same effect.” “We can’t wait to see how the world reacts as we combine this epic story with top Korean talent and a passionate worldwide following,” said Keo Lee, Netflix Korea’s director of programming.

Yoo Ji-tae will play Professor in Money Heist: Korean – Joint Economic Area. Park Hae-soo will play Berlin, Jun Jong-seo will play Tokyo, Lee Won-jong will play Moscow, Kim Ji-hun will play Denver, Jang Yoon-ju will play Nairobi, Lee Hyun-woo will play Rio, Kim Ji-hoon will play Helsinki, and Lee Kyu-ho will play Oslo. The show will premiere on the OTT giant on June 24.
