Jordan (in his feature directorial debut), based on a narrative idea by Ryan Coogler and a screenplay by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, and Jonathan Majors will feature in the sequel to Creed (2015) and Creed II (2018), as well as the ninth entry in the Rocky franchise. Producers were interested in having Jordan serve as director, and Irwin Winkler stated that he had personally offered the role to Jordan. Stallone revealed in April 2021 that he will not reprise his role as Rocky Balboa in the film. Jonathan Majors was in discussions to play Adonis’ new foe around June 2021.
