For over a year, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have been open about their relationship. They got engaged last October after dating for less than a year, yet they appeared to be in head- over-heels in love with each other throughout their relationship. Fans finally got to watch how Travis Barker followed out engagement plan with Kourtney Kardashian in Episode 4 of The Kardashians. After Kourtney accepted the proposal, her sisters and Travis’ children gathered to celebrate. The family, as well as a few close friends, arrive at the site to surprise Kourtney with an engagement party, and Kris Jenner can’t stop crying.
Unfortunately, Kourtney’s children, Penelope, Mason and Reign, whom Kourtney has with ex Scott Disick, were not present at the celebration. The mother of three was very unhappy at her confessional session after realising that her children were not invited. She said, “I do wish that my kids were here. I think it would’ve made them feel more included in the decision and part of the surprise. Almost getting teared up she revealed that it was her mother Kris Jenner’s idea to not invite her children. She added, “I know that my mom made that decision, and it probably wasn’t her best.” After the proposal, Kourtney goes to a separate room to call her daughter Penelope. “We got engaged,” Kourtney tells her daughter on the phone, showing off her ring. Penelope then begins to cry on the phone.
While Travis confirmed that the proposal wasn’t recorded for the cameras, Kourtney talked about it in a confessional session, she said “I feel like I’m living in a fairy tale. I couldn’t have dreamed of anything more perfect. I’ve never in my whole life dreamt of getting married until Travis and until this relationship.”
Meanwhile, Kourtney tried to communicate with her children over FaceTime. Penelope, her daughter, was the first to receive the news and fell into sobs. Later in a confessional session, Kourtney explained, “Penelope took it hard. I think it’s a big change for her. Even though she loves Travis, I think she doesn’t know what that means. Is that taking me away? I think she just doesn’t know what it means. Her youngest son Reign commented that the news was “not exciting.” The fourth episode of the show is still quite emotional because it covers not only Kourtney and Travis’ engagement but also their continuous IVF journey as they strive to have a kid together.
