Through his Blue Beetle armour, Jaime gains superhuman abilities such as strength, speed, weaponry, and wings.

Soon after, Xolo Mariduea, the breakout star of Cobra Kai, was cast as the title hero, and the cast has since grown to include George Lopez, Adrianna Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, Belissa Escobedo, Roul Max Trujillo, Bruna Marquezine, and Harvey Guillén.Blue Beetle, which was originally planned as an HBO Max film, is being re-eyed for a theatrical release next year, and with production due to commence in the next months, a big new addition to the cast has been made.
