Brittany Snow’s casting Kid Cudi in her Directorial Debut

The music actor Kid Cudi joins the first time director Brittany Snow in her upcoming new movie, September 17. Actor Scott Mescudi, majorly known by his music artist name Kid Cudi starred with Snow in a recent horror hit film X from Ti West. The recent movie was released in theatres on 18th March.

Snow previously helmed a short film Milkshake in 2019 and after that this will be her first feature-length film as a director. Snow is best know for her being an actress in the Pitch Perfect franchise. She has been part of the industry since the 90’s starring in many films and TV shows as a performer for decades.

According to Variety, September 17 storyline follows a woman named Riley, who struggles with food and body image issues and recently left the rehab. She then meets Ethan, walking on the line of unconditional love and new addiction. Apart from directing the movie, Snow also wrote the movie’s screenplay with Becca Gleason. She mentioned that she learned a wholesome about directing from watching closely West while he directed the X adding, “I hope I can live up to what everyone else has been doing.” 

Cudi on being casted for the movie said, “I couldn’t believe that she wanted me in it. She had told me about the movie while we were on set [for X], but she never asked me to be in it. I was like, ‘Maybe she’s waiting to see how [X] turns out.’ It’s gonna be awesome. Really great script.” Cudi was recently seen for Oscar nominated movie, Don’t Look Up, where he played as Ariana Grande’s love interest. He also appeared in films like Bill & Ted Face The Music and Westworld Season 3 of HBO. Moreover his varied experience should come handy for the Snow’s first Directorial Debut September 17.
