Cardi B, the Grammy-winning rapper, found herself in the spotlight for an unexpected reason at her recent concert in Las Vegas. During her outdoor performance at Drai’s Beachclub, a concertgoer hurled a drink in her direction, prompting an immediate response from the fiery artist. In a now-viral video, Cardi can be seen throwing her microphone back at the front-row attendee, who was swiftly escorted away by security.

Despite the shocking incident, Cardi continued with her performance of the hit song “Bodak Yellow” after the microphone toss. The rapper later retweeted another video from a different angle, providing a clearer view of the fan attempting to empty their cup at her.

This isn’t the first time Cardi B has reacted strongly during a live show. The night before the incident at Drai’s Beachclub, Cardi reportedly threw her microphone towards a DJ who appeared to be cutting off her songs prematurely during another performance.

The incident involving Cardi B adds to a growing trend of artists facing items being thrown at them during concerts this year. One notable example is Harry Styles, who was hit in the eye with a flying object thrown by a fan at his Love on Tour show in Vienna. Similarly, other artists like Bebe Rexha, Drake, Kelsea Ballerini, Steve Lacy, Kid Cudi, and Pink have also endured concertgoers throwing objects at them mid-performance.

Bebe Rexha‘s incident in June garnered significant attention when a crowd member threw his phone towards the singer during her New York City concert. The phone hit her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain an injury that required stitches. The individual responsible for the incident was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple counts of assault and harassment.

Kelsea Ballerini faced a similar situation in Boise, Idaho, where she was struck in the face by an object thrown by a concert attendee. Meanwhile, Pink was taken aback when a fan threw a bag containing their deceased mother’s ashes onto her stage.

The rising number of incidents has led to growing concerns about safety and concert etiquette. Adele, during her Weekends with Adele show at The Colosseum in Las Vegas, took a moment to address the issue. The renowned singer expressed her dismay over people forgetting concert etiquette and resorting to throwing objects on stage. She sternly warned the audience against such behavior and joked about the consequences if anyone were to attempt such an act during her show.

While artists like Cardi B and Adele have spoken out against these incidents, the question of concert safety remains an ongoing concern for performers and event organizers alike. Concertgoers should be mindful of their behavior and considerate of the artists on stage, ensuring an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone involved.

As the music industry continues to navigate the challenges of live performances, it is crucial for fans and artists to come together to foster an environment of respect and appreciation for the artistry on display. Concerts are meant to be a celebration of music and creativity, and by working together, we can ensure that these events remain a positive and memorable experience for all.
