In the first formal confirmation, Warner Brothers has stated that Priyanka Chopra would play adult Sati in The Matrix Resurrections. This month, the film will be released.
In her forthcoming film The Matrix Resurrections, which Warner Brothers has confirmed, actor Priyanka Chopra will play adult Sati. Priyanka’s participation as Sati has been rumoured for a while, but this is the first formal confirmation from the production team.
Last month, Warner Brothers Korea posted on Instagram the Korean posters for their English counterpart. The poster featured Priyanka Chopra alongside the title of the film and the Korean name of her character, Sati. In the caption, the hashtag Sati was also used.
According to Looper.com, Priyanka will play a grown-up Sati, citing a new Warner Bros. press statement. Tanveer Atwal previously played the character as a young girl in The Matrix Revolutions. Sati was defined as “a young woman with a knowledge that belies her years and a capacity to perceive the truth, no matter how muddy the waters” in a Warner Bros. release.
Fans began leaving comments on a fan club post on Instagram announcing the news. “Omg! Amazing! “Have always wanted her to receive roles with powers,” one user said, while another added, “Such a suiting role for her.”
A new trailer for the film was recently published, with Priyanka uttering her first lines. “The most important decision of Neo’s life is not his to make,” she remarked. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity in the film.
The Matrix Resurrections, directed by Lana Wachowski, will be released on December 22. In addition, Jada Pinkett Smith reprises her role as Niobe in the film. As fresh additions to the cast, Jessica Henwick, Christina Ricci, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jonathan Groff will appear in the picture.
Meanwhile, Priyanka has many other projects in the works, including Jim Strouse’s Text For You and Joe and Anthony Russo’s drama series Citadel. She will also star alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa.
