The first image from Dream Scenario with Nicolas Cage is now available. Thanks to his outstanding portrayal as a recluse truffle hunter whose treasured forage pig is taken from him in Michael Sarnoski’s film, Pig, the Oscar-winning actor noted for his varied absurd roles has recently seen something of a career comeback. In The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, a meta-comedy, Cage followed it up by portraying a fictionalized version of himself. He also has a much-anticipated role as Dracula in the upcoming Renfield film. Cage has a tonne of exciting parts planned for the near future, however, this is only one of them.
In addition, Cage will play the lead role in the October 2022-starting Dream Scenario comedy produced by A24. Now, director Kristoffer Borgli has posted the first image from Cage’s next comedy on Instagram. Three shots from Dream Scenario show the clapperboard from the movie in operation as well as Cage dressed as the balding professor he plays. Look at the picture below:
What We Know About Dream Scenario
In Dream Scenario, a schlubby, everyday professor unexpectedly becomes famous overnight after mysteriously turning up in everyone’s dreams. According to the first trailer for the movie, Cage can undoubtedly pull off the look of a schlubby professor with the aid of the hair and makeup team. Following The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, in which he famously had sex with a younger version of himself, the A24 movie, which is Cage’s first collaboration with the independent arthouse studio, seems like another strange comedy for Cage.
In addition to Cage, who plays the hero, other actors who appear in Dream Scenario include Tim Meadows, Kate Berlant, Michael Cera, Julianne Nicholson, Dylan Baker, and Dylan Gelula. Dream Scenario’s narrative is being kept under wraps, aside from its peculiar concept. The movie is written and directed by Norwegian filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli, whose directorial debut, Sick of Myself, had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022 and received praise for its black humor and countercultural criticism. Producing Dream Scenario is Ari Aster, who has worked with A24 on Hereditary and Midsommar as well as the upcoming Joaquin Phoenix-starring Beau Is Afraid.
Dream Scenario’s first official look at Cage arrives not long after it was anticipated that filming would be completed. Although not a formal confirmation, Borgli publishing the first image today implies that the movie’s development has concluded as expected and that A24 may release it at some point in 2024. Up until that point, Cage is scheduled to appear in a variety of parts in Butcher’s Crossing, The Retirement Plan, The Old Way, Sympathy for the Devil, and Sand and Stones; it is therefore obvious that Cage’s post-Pig renaissance won’t be coming to an end anytime soon.
