After J-Hope left the group, the oldest member of BTS, Jin, went solo and made his debut with a single album. The Astronaut has significance for the group and the fans, who have greeted the release with warm words and teary eyes for various reasons.
The song, which resulted from Jin’s second collaboration with Coldplay after “My Universe,” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 51. He also set a record on the UK’s Official Official Singles Chart by taking the 61st position in the week following its release, sharing the honor with PSY. His most recent accomplishment was the sale of 1,024,382 copies of The Astronaut, as reported by Circle Chart (earlier known as Gaon Chart).
The BTS member is just the third solo artist in music chart history to have sold more than a million copies of his album. Jin is listed behind trot-ballad singer Lim Young Woong and EXO member Baekhyun. Being a million seller is a significant accomplishment for the BTS member, who will soon begin his required military service.
As their organization publicized the member’s intention to join, the group’s national responsibility, which had evolved into a global conversation, received an update. Jin was the first team member to submit a request to have his delay notice canceled, and he may enlist prior to his upcoming December 4th 30th birthday. According to his latest response to a fan on Weverse, he may also be on the front lines for his basic military training.
