Any historical drama will have a difficult time replacing The Crown, a phenomenally popular Netflix original series. The Empress, on the other hand, has a good chance of becoming the non-English equivalent. There could be many seasons of The Empress in the future because there are still many years of Elisabeth’s life to investigate.
