The release date of the Michael B. Jordan-helmed threequel, which will once again feature Jordan as Rocky Balboa’s protégé and the fighter son of boxing hero Apollo Creed, has been postponed from November 23, 2022, to March 3, 2023. The movie is being directed by Jonathan Jordan in his feature picture debut.

Creed 3 will face off against Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on March 3, 2023 thanks to the release date. It’s a clever piece of counter-programming to pair a sports movie like Creed III with a more fanciful franchise like Dungeons & Dragons, even though there is undoubtedly some minor audience overlap. Although the decision’s motivation is unknown, viewers shouldn’t object if it leads to the series’ third episode becoming a success.

The plot of Creed 3 created by Fruitvale Station’s Keenan Coogler and King Richard’s Zach Baylin, is unknown at this time. Tessa Thompson, who plays Creed’s fiancée Bianca, and Phylicia Rashad, who plays Creed’s stepmother Mary Anne, are both back in the movie alongside Jordan. The opponent for Creed in the ring will be Jonathan Majors, who will soon be seen as Kang the Conquerer in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The amount of muscle Majors put on for his role was evident in some set photographs, and he might end up being Creed’s toughest opponent.

In the first Creed movie, which came out in 2015, Creed was shown examining the legacy of his father Apollo, who was killed by Ivan Drago in the ring. Rocky whose initial resistance quickly transforms into an eventual parental bond, was recruited to train him.

The reputation and respect that Creed had attained by the end of the previous movie were increased by Creed II. He faced battle against Viktor, Drago’s son (Florian Munteanu). Before this information, MGM disclosed that screenwriter Robert Lawton is working on a spinoff Drago movie. Although there are few specifics, it is anticipated to span both Ivan and Viktor’s lives.
