Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be released in September. The animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars spinoff, which follows Clone Force 99 as they navigate the galaxy under Palpatine’s rule, will premiere on Disney+ on September 28, 2022, according to the Disney+ home page.

On May 4, 2021, the first season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiered. It was critically lauded and well-received by fans, with 16 episodes. The fans have waited long enough for Season 2 to begin, and they have done so patiently. The wait is finally over. At Star Wars Celebration in May, the creative team behind the series including showrunners Brad Rau and Jennifer Corbett — debuted the trailer for the new season alongside the news that the series would be returning this fall, giving fans their first hint that the wait for The Bad Batch’s return would not be long.

On the same day as the announcement, the panel also released the trailer for the second season, which hinted at a time jump as the crew appeared older and dressed in new gear. The Bad Batch’s freedom will be put to the test in the video, as the crew will be confronted with greater threats as well as the return of familiar foes and allies, including Commander Cody and Gungi from the Clone Wars.

Season 2 appears to promise even more action and adventure for the eponymous Bad Batch — Hunter, Wrecker, Echo, and Tech and their young charge, the unaltered female clone Omega, who appears to be taking a more active role in the assignments the Batch is carrying out based on the footage. Apart from the plot, The Bad Batch will feature a new aesthetic, as evidenced by the trailer. The Bad Batch’s armour, for example, includes some patchwork, whereas Omega wears her own helmet. Brad Rau is ecstatic about this new innovation, as evidenced by his statements. In the same panel, he said, “We iterated on these characters to get that kit-bashed, worn-through feeling, which really mirrors where they’re at at this point, very early on in Season 2.”

Executive producers include Dave Filoni, Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, and Carrie Beck, all of whom have worked on Star Wars on the small screen. Jost Rimes of Star Wars Resistance and Alex Spotswood of The Clone Wars are acknowledged as producers alongside them. Star Wars alum Baker, as well as Archie Panjabi, Michelle Ang, Rhea Perlman, Bobby Moynihan, Freddie Prinze Jr, Taran Killam, Seth Green, and others, provide voices for the Bad Batch misfits.
