Season 2 of Fate: The Winx Saga will premiere on Netflix in 2022. Here’s all we know about Season 2 of Fate: A Winx Saga, including the new cast members and the fact that filming has started.
Fate: The Winx Saga is a Netflix Original teen fantasy drama series based on the wildly popular Winx Club anime.
The show was created by Brian Young (who will return for season 2), and it was directed by Lisa James Larsson, Hannah Quinn, and Stephen Woolfenden. Archery Pictures, Rainbow S.p.A., and Young Blood Productions collaborated on the series.

The show has now been confirmed to be a part of Netflix’s Geeked Week, during which the streaming service will reveal additional details about the show’s future. We’re not sure what kind of information we’ll get about Fate: The Winx Saga season 2, but given where the show is now in production (more on that below), we’re hoping for a first peek at season 2 as well as an indication as to when it will be released on Netflix.

What about the series squabble?

Naturally, with a property as popular as the Winx Club, any live-action version will be scrutinised.
Aside from the show’s quality, the most contentious issue has been the casting decisions. The character of Musa, whose design was influenced by Chinese-American actress Lucy Lui, was cast instead of an actress of Asian heritage, and Emily Applebaum was cast.
Fans were even more upset when the character of Flora was replaced by Eliot Salt’s Terra Harvey. Although Salt has hinted at Flora’s possible appearance in the second season (and we can confirm this to be the case shortly). These ‘controversies’ were arguably insufficient to justify the series’ cancellation.

Season 2 of Fate: The Winx Saga introduces new characters

We’re pleased to inform that at least three new characters will be introduced in Season 2, and we received confirmation on who will play them in July 2021.
Paulina Chávez will portray Flora – Like her cousin Terra, she is described as an Earth fairy with a laid-back demeanour but a dark secret. This job is being filled by a Hispanic woman.
Éanna Hardwick will portray Sebastian – Sebastian, who appeared in season 2 of World of Winx, is said to be joining the Netflix series. A student described as having a brilliant mind but questionable morality.

Brandon Grace will play Grey in the film. We couldn’t discover any references to Grey in the original animated series (tell us if we’re wrong). This character is a transgender man who is defined as an expert with a secret (everyone in season 2 has a secret!). In addition, in season 2, he will have a relationship with Aisha, which he will achieve through his “charismatic charms.”

Additional casting will take place till August 2021. According to MovieExtras.ie, they’re looking for identical twins to play in season 2. We chatted with a fan of the show who couldn’t recall seeing any identical twins in the original material.
According to IMDb, Jayden Revri (The Lodge, Dead Boy Detectives) will play Devin in season 2.

Is Season 2 of The Winx Saga in the works?

We heard that production would take place between mid-July and November 2021, with filming once again taking place in Dublin, Ireland, ahead of confirmation of a start date.
Season 2 is expected to have eight episodes, up from six in season 1.
On July 20th, 2021, we received news that filming with the new cast members had commenced. Season 2 filming is under underway in County Wicklow, Ireland. We also know that some filming took place in the Irish town of Avoca.

When can we expect Season 2 of Fate: The Winx Saga on Netflix?

It’s possible that the series won’t return to Netflix for quite some time. The series began filming in September 2019 and ended a few months later on December 13th, 2019. The series didn’t air for another thirteen months after that.
Our best estimation is that it will be released in mid-to-late 2022, based on the production schedule indicated above.
