Season two of Fate: The Winx Saga, an animated children’s series based on Winx Club, has just been announced by the streaming service. Fate: The Winx Saga joins Netflix’s long list of other fantasy series, which also includes their popular series The Witcher and other endeavours like Sweet Tooth. Fate: The Winx Saga is based on the Italian animated series Winx Club. Brian Young, who also created The Vampire Diaries, is the series’ creator, showrunner, and executive producer.
Fate: The Winx Saga chronicles the adolescent development of five fairies who attend Alfea, an Otherworldly magical boarding school. The second season takes place in a school that is now run by Headmistress Rosalind and addresses the theme of “What am I going to be when I grow up?” Bloom (Abigail Cowen) and her suitemates find a dangerous threat lurking in the shadows when fairies start going missing in the middle of the night. They must stop it before it wreaks havoc on the entire Otherworld.
As Bloom, Stella, Aisha, Terra, and Musa continue to attend the magical boarding school Alfea, where they must learn magic on top of all the other things that come with growing up, such as young love, small rivalries, and monsters, the second season of Fate will introduce new characters, such as earth fairy Flora, as played by Paulina Chávez, while also bringing back our favourites in Bloom, Stella, Aisha, Terra, and Musa. Our favourite fairies will confront new dangers, and as they begin to disappear, it will be up to Bloom and her companions to investigate what is happening and identify the evil powers they will have to contend with this season.
Miranda Richardson, an Oscar nominee, will be Alfea’s headmistress this season, along with Daniel Betts, who will play Professor Harvey. They are part of a cast that also includes Danny Griffin, Sadie Soverall, Freddie Thorp, Theo Graham, Jacob Dudman, Brandon Grace, Robert James-Collier, Ken Duken, and Éanna Hardwicke. Judy Counihan and Kris Thykier from Archery Pictures, as well as Joanne Lee and Cristiana Buzzelli from Rainbow, are executive producing the show.
