Netflix’s popular science fiction show Stranger Things could get a possible spinoff as teased by show creators Ross and Matt Duffer. The first season of the show was premiered in 2016 which introduces the audience to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who has supernatural powers and a connection to an alternate dimension called the Upside Down.

The show has had three tremendous seasons on Netflix with the fourth one being split into two parts coming out on 27 May and 1 July respectively. Following Eleven’s loss at the Battle at the Satrcourt Mall during Stranger Things season 3 finale, the group of friends separates. In the last episode, Eleven leaves the Byers family with Hopper dead after sacrificing himself to destroy the Russian Gate to the Upside Down.

Fans await Stranger Things season 4’s first batch of episodes while the trailers reveal Hopper is alive and well. Stranger Things season 5 will be the last season, and each episode will be over an hour long. Season 4 will be the longest season so far, with each episode over an hour long.

As mentioned in a recent interview with SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), Stranger Things creators are open to a continuation or spin-off of the series, but it needs to be an idea they are genuinely excited about.

Matt Duffer said: We haven’t told anyone our plans! Not even Netflix! We have some ideas. In terms of if we were to do any sort of a spin-off, or any continuation of Stranger Things, for us the bar was always, ‘Is the idea exciting enough that we feel the pull of wanting to do it again?’ I want to feel the pull of, ‘God, I really want to do this. I feel really, really excited about this.’ So that’s why we’re being careful about what that is and whether we move forward with it or not.”010

Meanwhile, Ross Duffer added:  “The key for us is that it needs to feel like its own distinct thing, not that we’re just retreading what we’ve already done, because what would be the point of that? I do think we have something that could be pretty exciting. So we’ll see.”
