First part of Stranger Thing premieres on May 27, 2022.

Stranger Things 4 is officially coming to Netflix, and there are two release dates (surprise!). Netflix revealed this week that a massive fourth season will be split into two parts, with Volume 1 premiering on May 27. Volume 2 will be released on July 1, so fans will not have to wait another long time.

Stranger Things 4: Everything we know 4

“Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding,” series creators Matt and Ross Duffer wrote in an open letter to fans. “With nine scripts, over 800 pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding.” “Everyone involved is ecstatic with the outcomes, and we are as well.”

The first trailer for the next season, which was published in August, teased fresh sequences from the upcoming season, starring Eleven—with bangs!—and the group in dangerous circumstances.

Stranger Things 4 was confirmed back in 2019

Stranger Things 4 was revealed by Netflix in September 2019 with a teaser that displays the number four in the series’ trademark neon writing, located somewhere in the Upside Down, after months of uncertainty.

“We’re not in Hawkins anymore,” Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) remarked in an Instagram post, referring to the small Indiana town where the events of Stranger Things take place. According to Entertainment Weekly, the series appears to go beyond Hawkins’ bounds, especially given Season 3 finished with Eleven and the Byers family leaving out of town, followed by a post-credits sequence in Russia. Matt Duffer, the show’s creator, has previously stated that he wants to “expand out” the tale “to regions outside of Hawkins.”

Stranger Things’ creative team has hinted in recent years that the show will be renewed for more than three seasons. Shawn Levy told Collider definitively in April 2018 “I mean, I’d say we have a fair idea of what’s going to happen in Season 4. Season 4 is unmistakably on the way.” Those plotlines, however, have yet to be disclosed.

No debut date has been set as of yet, but we do know that Hopper is returning.
