Tom Holland reveals he received a valuable Iron Man memento from Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. gave his brother an Iron Man helmet, which was utilised in the first Iron Man film, according to Tom Holland.

Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in No Way Home, stated that his on-screen and off-screen mentor Robert Downey Jr. gave him the Iron Man helmet he used in the first film. Tom explained that he received the gift while Robert was in London shooting for a movie.

Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., introduced Tom Holland’s Peter Parker to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before Tom featured in his first standalone Spider-Man picture, Spider-Man: Homecoming, he was the one who included Peter in the fight between Iron Man and Captain America in Captain America: Civil War.

Tom discussed Robert and the gift he received from him on the YouTube show Hot Ones. “My favourite souvenir was actually given to me – well it wasn’t given to me, it was given to my little brother Paddie. When Black Panther was coming out, Robert Downey Jr. was making Dr. Doolittle in London. And he was staying down the road from where I live. And he invited us to a screening of Black Panther at his house. And Paddie comes running into the room, and he’s holding the original Iron Man helmet, and Downey had given it to him as a gift,” he recalled.

“That’s a really special one for me because I was lucky enough to join the MCU but I joined it very late. And that souvenir, that’s from the original film – that’s the birthplace of this incredible world that Kevin Feige and Marvel have created – and Downey and Favreau kicked off. So to have something from that film is a huge honour,” Tom continued.

Tom went on to appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home and will now star in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while Robert finished his Marvel career with Avengers: Endgame. In the film, the superhero will cross paths with Doctor Strange once more, as well as villains from alternate Spider-Man realms. While these characters were featured in the film’s teaser, there have been rumours that former Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire may appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
