After Venom: Let There Be Carnage Release No One Wants Spider-Man and Venom Crossover Says Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy and Andy Serkis joke that no one wants a Venom and Spider-Man crossover film after the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Hardy is back in the spin-off as Eddie Brock alongside his lovable symbiote, while Serkis is in the director’s chair. The film co-stars Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady and Naomie Harris as Shriek, as well as Michelle Williams, who returns as Anne, Eddie Brock’s previous sweetheart.

In a new interview fragment from MTV News (via Spider-Man: No Way Home Updates), star Tom Hardy is asked about a potential crossover between Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Venom, to which the actor answers sarcastically that he can’t imagine “anybody who might be distantly interested in seeing that.” Hardy shares an immediate laugh with Serkis after, yet later says the he’s a fan of Holland’s, although he doesn’t know him that well and clarifies that they haven’t sat down to discuss the chance of a crossover. In any case, Hardy says “it’s something that, clearly, is always on the radar.” Check out the full clasp underneath:

Spider-Man: No Way Home releases in December and by and by stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The film will feature at least one known villain from the past Sony Spider-Man films, Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus. In addition, other previous Spider-Man stars appear to be set to return, with J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson and Jamie Foxx as Electro both appearing in what seems to be a major multiverse crossover that will see characters from past Spider-Man incarnations network together in the MCU timeline.

With the constant weeps for Venom and Spider-Man to appear in a film together, it seems like a foregone end that it will happen at this point, especially with the multiverse making essentially anything and everything conceivable going forward. Hardy’s Venom feels great established at this point and a far cry better compared to Topher Grace’s half-realized form in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, so folding his character into Holland’s MCU timeline appears to be a solid match. After Venom: Let There Be Carnage’s shocking credits scene, it appears to be without a doubt that Holland and Hardy will meet sooner rather than later.
