Fox Renews Comedy Series “Animal Control” for Third Season

Fox has demonstrated early confidence in its comedy series “Animal Control” by renewing it for a third season, a month before the sophomore run’s debut.

Starring Joel McHale, the series, created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling, with Tad Quill serving as showrunner, marks Fox’s first fully-owned series following the sale of its studio counterpart to Disney. McHale and Jake Fuller also executive produce alongside Fisher, Greenberg, Sterling, and Quill.

Michael Thorn, president of scripted programming at Fox, praised “Animal Control” as an irreverent series that embodies the essence of a Fox comedy. He expressed admiration for the momentum behind the show and the exceptional work of the cast and crew, leading to the decision to reward them with another season.

“Animal Control” debuted as Fox’s most-streamed premiere in network history and its most-streamed comedy episode, garnering 2.6 million views on Hulu. Season two will feature guest stars Ken Jeong, Sarah Chalke, and Krystal Smith, alongside co-stars Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, and Grace Palmer. It is set to premiere on Wednesday, March 6, at 9 p.m.

The renewal of “Animal Control” marks the first live-action scripted series to secure a spot for the 2024-25 broadcast season. It joins Fox’s lineup of animated comedies like “Bob’s Burgers,” “Family Guy,” “Grimsburg,” “Krapopolis,” and “The Simpsons,” along with other rookie shows in development.
